OLGA
GLOSMAN

I want the viewer to step into the painting, feel the presence with the subject.

A large part of the magic of portraiture lies in the possibility of different interpretations of the subject’s personality.

My intent is to facilitate a connection. I invite you into my art world.

ARTIST’S BIO

Olga Glosman is a Los Angeles based artist. She was born in Moscow, Russia and came to the USA at the age of 19. She lived for a short time in Italy and later did a lot of traveling around the world, which enriched her inspiration in art.

The desire to paint and draw was part of her life since childhood and later she started experimenting with oils by learning painting techniques of old masters using books and videos. She also took a lot of different art classes, including Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art and classes and workshops with Jeremy Lipking, whose skills she highly admires. She continued to educate herself on Human Anatomy. Olga believes that learning various old masters techniques gives her more freedom to express her art and provides her more confidence to experiment in her own style of painting.

She embraces the exploration of painting and enjoys the journey. For her, inspiration can arrive anywhere, especially from experiences in life, interacting with people and peoples stories. And of course, music and nature.

Olga loves painting people, especially women. It’s important for her to seek the human spirit at its best, in all of its complexity. These subjects are endlessly interesting to her. Painting is an experiment that’s continuously unfolding. There are stories to tell. The communication of emotions is one of the most important aspects in her art. She wants people to feel something when they see her art.

In her work she tries to turn the ordinary moments of life into extraordinary and create the story around them, communicate the emotions, and let the viewer to try to figure out what’s going on and make a story for themselves.

Life’s journey as a whole is very interesting. Sometimes it is sad, sometimes happy. It awakens a lot of emotions for me on the path.

I try to connect with the time and go forward. I try to make my work reflective of each moment in time.

I know Art can connect, heal, awaken the emotions, and bring the light to the world.

That is why I love art so much!
